Behaviour of radionuclides in the biosphere
General
This course consists of summarizing lectures on behaviour of radionuclides in the environment with respect to their chemistry and speciation. It also focuses on impacts of radionuclide contamination and toxicology issues.
Syllabus:
-
Generalities on the behavior of radionuclides (RNs) in the biosphere
-
Physico-chemical information from the Mendeleiev periodic table
-
Speciation of Radionuclides
-
Plutonium chemistry
-
Generalities on human toxicology, radiotoxicity + guidance
-
Generalities on the effects of ionizing radiations + guidance
-
Generalities on the impact of radionuclides in the environment + guidance
-
Uranium behaviour in the biosphere
-
Specific data on RNs of interest (tritium, iodine, cesium, actinides…)
-
Treatment of the contamination by radionuclides in human or decorporation
-
Databases and analytical tools in speciation
